Questions

Is the portrait painted by hand?

No. We use AI image tools to create the artwork from your photo, then print it as a giclée on real canvas. That is why you can see it in about a minute, and why it costs far less than a commissioned painting.

What kind of photo works best?

One where your pet faces the camera in good light, with both eyes visible. Phone photos are fine. Blurry, dark or far-away photos give weaker portraits.

What if I don’t like the preview?

Then don’t order. Try another title or another photo instead. Previews are free, with a daily limit per visitor.

Can two pets share one portrait?

Not yet. Each portrait shows one pet. You can order a separate portrait for each of them.

How long does delivery take?

Printing takes 2 to 3 business days, and US delivery 1 to 5 business days after that. You get a tracking link by email when your canvas ships. Digital files are ready to download right after payment.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Canvases ship within the US only for now. The digital file is available everywhere.

Can I return my portrait?

Each portrait is made for one pet, so we can’t take returns for a change of mind. If your canvas arrives damaged or misprinted, email us a photo within 14 days and we will reprint it free.

What happens to my photo?

We use it only to make your portrait. Photos and previews that are not ordered are deleted within 30 days, and we never use your photo or your portrait in our marketing without asking you first.

Where we ship

Canvases ship to addresses in the United States. Digital files can be downloaded anywhere in the world.

Cost

US shipping is included in the price of every canvas.

Timing

Each canvas is printed to order in 2 to 3 business days. Delivery takes 1 to 5 business days after that, so most orders arrive within 3 to 8 business days. You receive a tracking link by email when your canvas ships.

Damage in transit

If your canvas arrives damaged, email a photo to hello@getoakandotto.com within 14 days of delivery and we will reprint and reship it at no cost.

Returns

You approve it first

Every order starts with a free preview. The image you approve is the image we print.

Change of mind

Each portrait is made for one pet, so we can’t accept returns or cancel an order once it has gone to print.

Damaged or misprinted

If your canvas arrives damaged, or differs from the preview you approved, email a photo to hello@getoakandotto.com within 14 days of delivery. We will reprint it free or refund you, whichever you prefer.

Digital files

Digital files can’t be returned once they have been downloaded.

Privacy

What we collect

The photo you upload and your pet’s name if you give it. At checkout: your name, email and shipping address. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see your card number. To count free previews we keep a random number in your browser and a scrambled form of your network address; neither tells us who you are.

What we do with it

We make your portrait, fulfill your order and answer your emails. We never use your photo or your portrait in our marketing without asking you first.

Who else handles it

Only the services that run this shop: fal and Google (image generation), Supabase (storage of your portrait), Stripe (payments), our US print partner (printing and delivery) and our web host. We use the Meta pixel to measure our advertising.

How long we keep it

Your photo is used once, to paint your portrait, and is deleted as soon as the portrait is made. Only the portrait is stored. Portraits that are not ordered are deleted within 30 days. Order records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your photo

Upload only photos you took or have permission to use. You keep all rights to your photo.

Your portrait

Portraits are created with AI image tools from your photo. Once you have paid, the portrait is yours to print, share and enjoy for personal use.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, where it applies, is added at checkout. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order.

Previews

Previews are free and limited per visitor per day. A preview carries a watermark and may not be used as a finished portrait.

Your order is in and your payment went through.

We print each canvas within 2 to 3 business days and email a tracking link when it ships.
